Oh Happy Day Finds!!

Just returned from a trip to Memphis with my youngest daughter.  I took her to visit a good friend who had moved back at Christmas time.  She had a great visit and I enjoyed getting to see a new place and getting to know some lovely people better.  The only thing that was missing (for me) was an antique or good junk fix.  I rarely travel anywhere without doing a little poking so I felt a little in withdrawal when we got back.  Fortunately there is an easy antedate to that problem.  Vintage therapy!!  Took myself out on a date for most of the day Friday and visited some of my favorite haunts and dealers.  And as luck would have it, it was a market weekend for White Home Collections so I had an extra place to stop and poke.  Here is a peek at my happy findings.

Love this 1920's fabric.  After a careful laundering, it is destined to become a new skirt for me.

LOVE the color on this huge spool of vintage aqua rick rack.

There are four tins in total to this set.  I love the cherry pattern.  I have a bread box and serving tray with the same pattern.  These look so cheery on my kitchen shelves.

This game board was too cute to pass up.  One of these days, this one and several others I have collected will hang up as wall art in my upstairs hallway.

The color on the bark cloth of this knitting basket is totally me!!  Love everything about it, especially that it is in good enough shape that I can actually keep my knitting in it.

Really like everything I brought home (and I have a use for it all), but by far this is my favorite purchase of the day.  This sweet silver bracelet started it's life out as a fork. A New Hampshire artist crafts them into hinged, one of a kind pieces of wearable art.  It makes for quite the conversation piece too.

Found many of my happy treasures at Twin Elm Farm in Peterborough, NH.  I will be posting some new photos of their shop in the next couple days. Check them out.  They have great goodies and are just so nice to spend some time with.  Hope you are enjoying your day.  Thanks for stopping by.

The bracelet is gorgeous!
Do you have any pointers for laundering and caring for your vintage fabric?
