I love collecting vintage valentine cards. You know the ones that kids exchanged back in the 50's in those cute homemade mailboxes in their classrooms on Valentine's Day. And also, some of the sweet old postcards that were sent out for the occasion in the 20's and 30's. I decided to extend my valentine decorating to the not-yet-finished kitchen to spruce it up a bit. Why not? I had all the stuff packed away to do it, so rather than join the rest of New England hanging my head in defeat over the Patriot's loss at the Superbowl on Sunday, I spent a little time yesterday morning rigging up a few more valentines. Here is your peek:
The new valentine scenery decks out the chalkboard over the kitchen table. The pastry tray was filled with valentine sugar cookies by evening, but didn't make it into the photo, but boy were they yummy!
All the valentines that I chose to display have puppies in them - my tribute to "puppy love!"
And this lovely, now hangs on the panel alongside the refrigerator. Love that I can take out what's in it and change it by holiday, season, or just to hold important notes and such.
Hope you are finding joy in your day today. Thanks for stopping by.
